Projection or video mapping, is a projection technique used to turn objects into a display surface for video projection. These objects can be small objects, buildings or theatrical stages. A 2d or 3d object is spatially mapped using specialized software. The software can interact with a projector to fit any desired image onto the surface of that object. By using this technique, extra dimensions, optical illusions and notions of movement can be added onto static objects.
